Narda

is a mid-career artist with a unique vision. When you open the door to her studio, perceptions change. Images somersault into the room and keep rolling. She’s an intuitive painter grounded in both traditional as well as magic realism, a style she developed while living in Mexico where she began her career as a visual artist.

Blending both symbolism and personal narration, Boughton’s playful and insightful interpretations of the world invite celebration. A highly versatile artist, her paintings and sculptures revere the commonplace while simultaneously exalting them to the extraordinary. A balloon is not just a balloon, it’s an elegant sphere of pulsing light and energy.

Boughton was educated at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where she lived and sold her work for fifteen years. She now lives on the shores of Lake Superior where the ancient winds, waves and waters of this region inform her work.
